Management work when many people are working from home
Today, many people work from home and management can be a challenge. It can be difficult to follow developments in the company and it can be easy to feel that you “don’t know what’s going on”. At the same time, you do not want to chase up your colleagues and disturb them, but let them get on with their tasks without unnecessary interruptions. As a manager, you want to be in control without having to control. Buskoll is the solution to this dilemma.
With Buskoll as a management system, as a manager you can easily control the operations wherever your employees are, without having to interrupt. You can feel confident that tasks will be completed on time and spend your time on other issues. What’s more, the entire business becomes more efficient because no one has to keep too much in their minds and can spend more time on core operations instead.
In Buskoll there are two ways to find out the status of other employees’ tasks quickly. Either by using the “Plan” view where you can easily see the status of everyone’s tasks in the whole company. Or by using automatic acknowledgements that appear as soon as the status of a task changes.
Acknowledgements to keep track of other people’s tasks
If you want to quickly find out when someone else has received a new task, or marked it completed, or if it has not been completed when it should have been, you can use automatic acknowledgements. They appear instantly (on your computer, as push notifications on your phone and in your e-mail) when the status of a task changes. All you have to do in the system is select which acknowledgement you want for the current task. Buskoll then does the rest. This gives you control over the situation, but without having to actively control it.
As mentioned above, there are three different types of acknowledgements in Buskoll:
Accepted task
If you choose to receive an “Accepted task” acknowledgement, this means that you will receive a notification when an employee has accepted/received a task sent to them. This way you know for sure that the task has been received and that the recipient has seen it.
Marked completed task
You can also choose to receive an acknowledgement when a task has been marked completed. This way you know that the person who was responsible for the task has completed it.
Overdue task
Sometimes tasks can be overdue. If it is a very important task, it is good to know about it as a manager. In Buskoll you can do this by selecting the “Overdue task” acknowledgement. This will tell you immediately when a task has not been completed on time and you can deal with it, perhaps by making sure that the person who was responsible for the task gets help to solve it.
Use the “Plan” view to keep track of other people’s tasks
If the company consists of a lot of people, it is not always efficient to use automatic acknowledgements to keep track of other people’s tasks. There may be a lot of notifications and messages that come in when colleagues are dealing with their tasks and it can be easy to get distracted.
Instead, you can keep track of everyone else’s tasks by going into the “Plan” view. There you can easily see the status of their tasks, allowing you as a manager to get a good overview of the work situation in the company and quickly find important tasks that may be behind and need to be handled.
You, of course, can use acknowledgements for certain important tasks that you want to keep track of, and use the “Plan” view for the rest. Just one of the advantages of Buskoll.
In the event of sickness or absence
Another strength of Buskoll is the management of tasks in the event of absence, either planned, such as holidays, or unplanned, such as when someone calls in sick. In Buskoll, as a manager you (or whoever has the right authorisation) can quickly transfer the tasks concerned to a colleague instead, who then adds them to their to-do list.
In the same way, Buskoll makes it easy to manage personnel changes in the company, as a management system. Simply transfer the tasks from the person leaving, or changing role, to the person who is taking over, who then gets the tasks directly added to their to-do list. Safe and secure.
It is also possible to share tasks with someone else. This can be useful if you are not sure that the person who is actually responsible for the task will be able to finish it in time. By sharing the task with someone else, it appears in both people’s to-do lists and the first person who has the time can do it. Convenient.
Quality assurance of the operations included
Buskoll, as hopefully has become clear, is a completely new type of management system. Being able to manage both your own and other people’s tasks in a simple way, with all employees’ individual to-do lists at the heart of the system, is really powerful. It also quality-assures day-to-day work.
You can then talk about being on top of it…!
